Ademo Sits Five Days at Valley St.; Will Appeal Longer Sentence

From CopBlock.org:

Ademo Freeman is sitting in a cage at Valley Street Jail in Manchester, NH.

His “crime”? Highlighting the double-standards claimed by some who wear “Manchester Police Department” badges on their costumes*. After a six-month ordeal, Ademo was found guilty of two “class a misdemeanors” for resisting (going limp) and one “class b misdemeanor” (for using children’s chalk on a public building).

For such egregious actions Ademo was “sentenced” Monday morning at Manchester district court. In true government efficiency, the kangaroo his proceeding began 30-minutes late.

“Prosecutor” Gregory Muller started by reciting Ademo’s past run-ins with individuals who claim the “legitimate” right to use force in an arbitrary political boundary.Included in that list-of-actions-that-had-no-victims was Ademo’s 2007 felony (for having a plant some strangers deemed “illicit”). Muller proclaimed that the previously levied sentences had had no deterrent or punitive impact.

As such, for his two “class a offenses,” Muller advocated for Ademo be caged for 12-months, with 10-months stayed (concurrent sentence). For his “class b offense” Muller claimed “the state” was owed 375-FRNs.

William H. Lyons (who wore a black robe) asked Ademo to comment on what he had heard. Per the monetary claim, he stated that he’d be willing to do community service and even pay “a reasonable amount.” Per the cage time threatened Ademo pointed-out the big discrepancy that existed between the action and penalty, and that the 2 1/2 days he’d already spent in a cage (arrested on Sat. June 4th and arraigned on Mon. June 6th) were more than adequate.

But most important, Ademo underscored the fact that there was no victim for his actions. He concluded, “Valley Street wasn’t built for people who use chalk.”
freec8 ws Ademo Sits Five Days at Valley St.; Will Appeal Longer Sentence
Lyons t0ld Ademo that he had “an incorrect memory” as Ademo had stated the total clean-up cost for his chalking (a firehose used to spray-off the chalk) was125-FRNs when in fact the cost was 375-FRNs due to the fire department’s three-hour minimum**.

Lyons told Ademo that because he used non-toxic children’s chalk on public property he owed “the state” 200-FRNs plus a 48-FRN “penalty assessment.” And, because he went limp when he was unjustly arrested he is to spend 12-months in a cage, with 10-months stayed (as a concurrent sentence), so long as he had “good behavior” for two years (which includes not violating a Manchester “city ordinance” against graffiti).

Ademo communicated that he didn’t intent to fund “the state.” In lieu of paying the 248-FRN ransom he indicated his preference to sit the time. He was taken directly from sentencing to Valley St where he’ll be through the week. Re: the threat to be caged for 12-months (with all but two months stayed), Ademo noted his plan to appeal.

Ademo had arrived at Manchester district court with friends who love and support him. He left in handcuffs led by strangers to a cage. For what?! Ademo is guilty only of drawing attention to the blatant rights-violations committed by some wearing “Manchester PD” badges, which has only been compounded by those involved who have not spoken up for what is right.

In five days Ademo will be free(r) then he can dig into his appeal.

Before he went into the proceeding he outlined how YOU can help:

  • make the move
  • get involved with Cop Block – as a contributor, by submitting a story, or anything else. This is a decentralized project – you don’t need our permission to use the Cop Block label to advance the simple but powerful idea that badges don’t grant extra rights!

*to be specific, Jonathan Duchesne, Matthew Jajuga, Michael Buckley, and Ernie Goodno, who act as if they have extra authority based on their attire based on their dress alone
**again, these are all public officials, the building is public property, Ademo was using non-toxic children’s chalk, and there was no victim

Ademo is a threat to those that he exposes. He questions their moral authority and they don’t like it. He has my support.

  2. matt 2012/01/10 at 11:02 AM #

So let me get this correct…..he could pay $248 and continue doing the things he wants, but doesn’t want to “fund” the state. Instead, he has chosen to go to jail, where everyone else has to “fund” his stay – which will cost thousands. He does not have my support.

Make the Move. Why would anyone, after seeing all this “tyranny” even begin to think that moving here would provide them more freedoms than anywhere else. Indeed, it would seem quite the opposite.

Of course, my points are valid and worthy of discussion, but I am sure someone will call me a troll for it.

    Theater of the Absurd!

  4. Bob Constantine 2012/01/10 at 11:15 AM #

    Matt,

The part of your of statement that is interesting, “where everyone else has to fund”….You don’t have to fund it.

I think the point is many people don’t freely chose to fund this. Your point of “having to fund it” really means “fund this or YOU will be next. That is a perfect example of the STATE reliance on force to fund the incarceration of “disobedient people” for a victimless crime.

I think it is also worth pointing out Ademo’s ‘crimes” stem from his calling the Manchester Police Department to task for several of their members assaulting and harming one other man.

Whether you agree with Ademo or not concerning the way he expressed his frustration over Police brutality, he is trying to do something about it and for that he has my deepest respect.

  5. JASPER 2012/01/10 at 11:40 AM #

The police and the judiciary chose to force you to fund it, Matt. I’m glad you think it’s a waste of money, too but you’re preaching to the choir here. Bitch at the cops or the judge if you want to bitch.

  6. matt 2012/01/10 at 11:45 AM #

Just this week, Ian called the cops demanding something be done about people parking on West Street (people he naturally disagreed with politically). I wonder, if those visitors were ticketed, and they chose to fight it, and the evil state imposed a similar fine/jail sentence for this victimless crime, would Ian state “stop caging peaceful people” as he did in this vid? He called the POLICE….and demanded the state take action…..on peaceful people……where there was no victim. And no one wants to answer to that.

In regard to what you stated to me – I believe Ademo has a good heart on him…I believe he is passionate about what he believes in. I don’t support the way he goes about it in his engagement techniques, but that is JMO. I don’t believe he should go to jail for this either. I really don’t. But I do support jails, I don’t *really* have a choice in their funding – and even if I did, I would fund them. His agreeing to go to jail is still funding the state….he is just doing it with his time rather than paper bills. Which is more valuable to a person? And on top of that – his decision is, costing everyone else money. There is no getting around that.

  7. matt 2012/01/10 at 11:49 AM #

Jasper – why would I bitch at the cops? As if some patrol officer has any control over funding/judicial issues/sentencing etc. That is the problem, everyone is always bitching to the wrong people around here. Sure it makes everyone feel good – but it is really useless. It hasn’t made one bit of difference – all it has done is created a divide.

  8. Bob Constantine 2012/01/10 at 12:43 PM #

    Matt,

A cop does have some control over sentencing… if you go to the root cause of why a person that hasn’t harmed anyone is even IN a court room. A cop, like all of us is ultimately responsible for the decisions they make. When they chose to “follow orders” that harm another person who hasn’t harmed anyone, THAT is when they become part of the problem.

The mantra “just doing my job” does not absolve us of the personal responsibility we all own for our choices and our actions. No argument shifting or rationalizations can change that.

  9. matt 2012/01/10 at 1:15 PM #

I disagree. The last thing I would want, is a bunch of police officers not doing their job, simply because he/she’s personal morality barometer doesn’t jive with mine. While officer’s have discretion in many cases, they’re job is……to enforce law. How those laws get on the books has alot to do with me, you and everyone else. Their job is not to decide which violations hurt people….which one’s don’t etc. It just isn’t. Using my example before….Ian called the police…..and they chose discretion….they didn’t “do their job” to his satisfaction – and he was irritated. It would seem FK wants the police to “do their job” when it is convenient for them, but to turn the other cheek when it happens to be friends of theirs. At least that is how I perceive it.

You want these guys to rot in jail, Matt. And *now* you don’t want to pay for it?

I suppose it all makes sense to you somehow, but I don’t see it. Perhaps you are just mentally ill, as I mentioned in previous posts. It would explain a lot of why you come here, just to constantly be made to look foolish.

  11. matt 2012/01/10 at 3:58 PM #

Are you really this stupid Chaz? Where did I say I want anyone to rot in jail. Duh….I said I didn’t think Ademo’s chalking warranted a sentence. But I can think that and also support a prison system – do you want Charles Manson as your neighbor?

So I read this blog. Tough shit. Deal with it. Just like freestaters read law enforcement blogs (just this week there is a blog on here, talking about a blog on lawdog’s blog). Am I mentally ill? Is that what you think Chaz? If so….is this how you always communicate with those who are mentally ill? Me thinks you protest too much. Most of the time I write something on here, I have as many individuals AGREEING with me than those who don’t. Open your eyes and read Chaz….stop fantasizing about me so much – and READ. Since reading your last sad attempts to explain your utopia land and neighborly love, you’re one of the biggest fools to consistently reply to me. Hilarious stuff.

Crap? So let me get this right, I don’t want to misunderstand you.

Wouldn’t want to get the wrong idea about someone who posts here anonymously & attempts to disrupt any pro-liberty content.

You and your control freak friends (as well as their numerous sock puppets) feel as though people should perform for them, barking out answers on command.

I mentioned that I would answer your questions at my leisure. You are dishonest (no secret there) by stating that I lied, when the real liar has always been you. You have to either exaggerate or just make up things about liberty activists. You are rude and disruptive on this site. I owe you nothing so you can ask your question again if you truly want it answered.

We must be great guys & gals if the only way to turn public opinion against us is to either outright lie or call us what *you are*

You & your ilk here, never answered my very important question:

Why obsessively post & act so weird on a website where you don’t post any real content or have any stake in restoration of liberty? You hide behind everything you say & totally flip out once the jig is up and you’ve been found out to be stalkers who just might be mentally unbalanced.

Did I miss anything about you vile louts?

  18. name 2012/01/10 at 8:11 PM #

And you deflect questions all the while accusing others of doing the same. And when did I accuse you of having lied? Perhaps you are the one who has now lied, genius.

    “name “,
If ridicule was debating you’d be a great debater.
It’s not. AT ALL. EVER. IT’S THE OPPOSITE ACTUALLY.
But then it’s obvious you don’t care about intelligent debate.
Probably because your not good at it; maybe if you did some reading or something, that might help you .
Then you wouldn’t have to pull out the ridicule at every turn when you have nothing. :-)

“Did I miss anything about you vile louts?”

Yes. You forgot to call us trolls.

“if the only way to turn public opinion against us……” LMAO. Excuse me Professor Munro, but if public opinion was so high, this site would be getting a lot more comments than it does from the 10 or so same people. There are more comments on how Lay’s Potato Chips are made on youtube. Public opinion….LOL.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of vaurois subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.I have bookmarked, and I joined the RSS subscription. Thanks! ….

I’ll answer this at my leisure. Sound familiar?

I actually already answered this question. Several times. To you even. You ask it quite often. It is no different than when Ademo on copblock babbles on about what he and his supporters write on policeone.com blogs. I don’t see why you care that others give input that may not necessarily always be in complete agreement with everything. Why are you so threatened afraid of dissent, or do you just not like freedom of speech? Is it wrong for people who live or have an intereest in Keene to read things about…..Keene? LOL.
